The Chesil Rectory, Winchester.
 
Fine Art Giclée print of my original watercolour and ink painting of the renowned Winchester restaurant. A beautiful medieval building oozing with history - the oldest remaining commercial building in Winchester, once owned by Henry VIII who later gave it to his daughter Mary Tudor. Queen Mary’s lavish wedding to King Philip of Spain in 1554 at the Cathedral almost bankrupted the city, so she gifted the Chesil Rectory to the City of Winchester as part-payment for the wedding. Since then, it’s been a merchant’s house, antiques shop, tannery, Bishop’s residence, general store and tea rooms, but a restaurant for the last 75 years. Also voted one of the most romantic restaurants in the country, so for anyone who had their first date here, a print would be the perfect gift ;)
 
Printed onto lightly textured, 100% cotton, high quality artist paper (310gsm) with rich, saturated colours using archival pigment inks for long life.

Each print is carefully wrapped and packaged in a protective cellophane sleeve and tissue paper, inside a board-backed envelope.

Personalisation: 

Perhaps it's somewhere you met the love of your life, had your first date or celebrated your wedding day? I can hand-write your special date and/or your names in black ink to the bottom of the print, centrally to the page. 
 
If choosing to add a date and names, they could be written on two lines, for example:
20-01-2025
Mr & Mrs Smith
Or on one line:
20th January 2025 - Mr & Mrs Smith
 
Please send me a message after placing your order to clarify what you'd like written & how you'd like the text to be laid out.
 
*Please note that I will write it exactly as you request, so be sure to write the date in the style you prefer (i.e. numerical like "01-02-2025", or in word form like "1st February 2025", etc), and check your spelling! Once I have already personalised a print I cannot make any changes. In the event that you have accidentally made a mistake, and I have already completed the personalisation, another print will need to be purchased at full price.
